EP Association endorses OECD’s Good Practice Note for E&S Agents

The Equator Principles Association endorses the recently released Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) ‘Good Practice Note for Environmental and Social Agents’ (“Note”).
The Note provides an overview of good practice for banks, Export Credit Agencies or other entities acting in the role of Environmental and Social Agents on behalf of a Lenders’ Group. It does not set any new requirements for EPFIs but in situations where it would be helpful, the Association encourages EPFIs to use this Note to help promote greater effectiveness and consistency.
Amit Puri, EP Association Chair, and Global Head of Environmental and Social Risk Management, Standard Chartered:
“The EP Association’s endorsement of the OECD’s Good Practice Note reflects the ongoing collaboration between the Association and the OECD, and recognises that many of our members are already collaborating on projects. We hope that by endorsing this Good Practice Note, EPFIs and those they work alongside will be empowered to better maximise the role of the E&S Agent’.
The document is available on the EP website, as well as the OECD official documents page, where it is also available in French.
